Parish Background

Holy Trinity Church is a community of Orthodox Christians seeking to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its entirety to all people in the Centre Region and beyond.

We strive to build up the Church beyond our parish by living our faith, participating in the fullness of Orthodox worship, teaching and fellowship, intentional outreach to the Penn State University community, and practicing sacrificial stewardship.

We are a pan-Orthodox community serving State College and Penn State. Founded in 1980 as a campus ministry, Holy Trinity took steps to organize itself off-campus in the early 1990s by purchasing a building and then applying for a Church Planting Grant. Having successfully completed the three-year planting grant program, Holy Trinity was granted parish status by the Archdiocese of Western Pennsylvania on July 1, 1999.
