Deacon Stefan Pasko

Deacon Stefan Pasko, 72, passed away at his home here on Saturday, January 25, 2003.

Born in Benton, IL on February 21, 1930, he graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1957. For many years he worked as an industrial arts instructor in downstate Illinois and New Mexico. In 1995 he retired from the West Frankfort, IL School District. In the early 1990s, he enrolled in the Late Vocations Program of the Diocese of the Midwest. He was ordained to the Holy Diaconate in 1995 and attached to the Protection of the Holy Virgin Mary Church, Royalton, IL.

Deacon Pasko was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria [Maple], who passed away in 1999, and one son. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Witges, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 28, at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Chapel, Buckner, IL, by the Revs. George Gulin, John Peck, and other area clergy. Interment followed in the chapel cemetery.
