Metropolitan Herman congratulated on the fifth anniversary of his enthronement

On the occasion of the fifth
anniversary of his enthronement as Primate of the Orthodox Church in
America, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, received a number of
congratulatory messages and greetings.

He received the following greeting from His Holiness, Patriarch Aleksy
II of Moscow and All Rus.

“Your Beatitude, Brother and Concelebrant beloved in the Lord:

“On the occasion of the celebration of your enthronement to the See of
the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, kindly accept our warm
congratulations on the occasion of this memorable date.

“We pray to Our Savior and Chief Pastor, Jesus Christ, that He may grant
you strength and good health so necessary in your lofty service.

He received a similar greeting from His Eminence, Metropolitan Kirill of
Smolensk and Kaliningrad, Chairman of the Department for External Church
Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

“I would like to congratulate you wholeheartedly on the anniversary of
your enthronement to the Metropolitan’s See of the Orthodox Church in
America.

“I lift up prayers to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that He may
send you wisdom and patience in abundance, so necessary in the primatial
ministry for the good of the flock entrusted to your care by the Chief
Pastor.

“I hope that cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the
Orthodox Church in America will grow stronger and continue as
unremittingly as before to serve the good of holy Orthodoxy and mutual
understanding of the two nations.”

The greetings were among those read after the Divine Liturgy at Saint
Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery, South Canaan, PA, on the feats of the
Nativity of the Theotokos, Saturday, September 8, 2007.
