Matushka Suzanne Janos, wife of the Rev. Stephen Janos, rector of Saints Peter and Paul Church here, died Sunday, February 8, 2004 after a long bout with cancer.
For many years, Matushka Suzanne served as a social worker at Saints Cosmas and Damian Home, Staten Island, NY, where her husband had served as chaplain. She and her husband converted to Orthodox Christianity in the early 1970s and were founding members of Saint Herman of Alaska Church, Shillington, PA. Over the years she was also very involved in the field of religious education and lay ministry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 10 and 11, at the Di Vincenzo Funeral Home, 1122 Lovejoy, Buffalo, NY, where a parastas will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12. Interment will be at Saint Matthew Cemetary, West Seneca, NY.
In addition to her husband, Matushka Suzanne is survived by one son, Andrew.
