Photo gallery of His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah’s Enthronement now available at OCN web site

The Orthodox Christian Network [OCN] is pleased to announce that its newest photo gallery of liturgical images, taken at the Enthronement of His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah, is now available at www.myocn.net.

Cameron Thorp, OCN’s graphic artist, took the photographs during the enthronement celebrations in Washington, D.C. on December 27 and 28.

“These aren’t your typical, hand-held camera photos,” Fr. Christopher Metropulos, the Executive Director of OCN, said. “These are really beautiful, intimate, and artistic shots of this great event in the life of the Orthodox Church.”

The photo gallery includes 42 images of the enthronement, as well as a separate gallery of 22 images taken at His Beatitude’s consecration to the Holy Episcopacy on November 1, 2008 in Dallas, Texas.

Visitors can view the photos for free at www.myocn.net and request high-resolution copies of their favorite images by e-mailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The two galleries featuring Metropolitan Jonah are the first in a series of professional photo shoots that OCN plans to make available on its Web site.

“OCN’s mission is to use modern media to communicate the timeless truth of Orthodoxy to the modern world,” Fr. Metropulos said. “We believe that images of Orthodox liturgical worship are an especially powerful means of communicating the beauty and spiritual depth of our faith, and are looking forward to featuring more photo galleries in the coming year.”

Orthodox dioceses, parishes and institutions that would like their own events photographed and featured in the gallery are welcome to contact OCN for more information.
