Distribution of the Orthodox Study Bible to the Theological Schools of the Russian Orthodox Church begins

On Monday, March 9, 2009, with the blessing of His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah of All America and Canada, the Orthodox Church in America began the distribution of Orthodox Study Bibles to Theological Schools of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Distribution of the Orthodox Study Bible to the Theological Schools of the Russian Orthodox Church beginsArchimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate, presented the first shipment of Orthodox Study Bibles to the St. Petersburg Theological Academy in the presence of His Grace, Bishop Amvrossy of Gatchina, Rector of the Academy, together with the Council of Teachers prior to the first lecture on the first day of classes after the beginning of Great and Holy Lent.

Upon receiving the bibles, His Grace, Bishop Amvrossy expressed his gratitude for the generous gift and stated that the bibles will be used for students studying English at the Theological Academy.

During the first quarter of 2009 the Orthodox Church in America will also be presenting Orthodox Study Bibles to the Theological Academies of Kiev and Moscow.
