Orthodox Study Bibles distributed to Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary
On Wednesday, April 1, 2009, with the blessing of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate arrived in Kiev, where he presented Orthodox Study Bibles in the English language to the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary.
Archimandrite Zacchaeus was received by His Grace, Archbishop Antony of Borispol, the Rector of the Theological Academy and Seminary who, in the presence of the faculty and students, officially received the Orthodox Study Bibles as a gift from the Orthodox Church in America. Archbishop Antony asked Archimandrite Zacchaeus to convey the gratitude of the students and the entire Academy and Seminary community to Metropolitan Jonah.
This is the second distribution of Orthodox Study Bibles to theological schools in Russia and Ukraine. The first distribution took place in St. Petersburg last month, and the final distrubution will be accomplished by Metropolitan Jonah when he offers them to the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary after Pascha.
