Upstate NY’s St. Andrew’s Camp seeks counselors, volunteers for 2011 season

Saint Andrew’s Camp here is seeking counselors and volunteers for its four-week, 2011 camping season.

Regular camping sessions will be conducted July 10-16, July 17-23, and July 24-30, with a fourth week for teens July 31-August 6.

Positions are available for male and female counselors age 18 and over with skills and experience in life-guarding/WSI, instrumental and vocal music, choir directing, acting, skit production, camping and nature skills, arts and crafts, religious education and sports are available. Counselor positions are for a total of five weeks—four weeks of the camping program and one week of preparation before the season opens. Seminarians, clergy, school teachers, parents, young professionals and retirees are also invited to serve as volunteers in a variety of capacities, including kitchen, activities, and special projects. All skill sets are welcome. Volunteers may visit for a single week, or the entire season and receive free room and board. Since its first season in 1957, Saint Andrew’s Camp has welcomed thousands of Orthodox Christians. The camp serves as a valuable youth ministry resource within the Diocese of New York and New Jersey, and is open to campers and staff regardless of jurisdiction.
