On Thursday, June 2, on the great feast of the Ascension of our Lord, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon attended the Divine Liturgy served at the Saint Sergius Chapel at the Chancery. Priest Larry Soper, Executive Assistant, presided at the Liturgy.
At the end of the service, His Beatitude greeted the Chancery staff inviting those in attendance to consider the great mystery unveiled before our eyes on this joyous feast. By ascending to the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ raises humanity to paradise, and this becomes a moment of awe even to the angels.
Metropolitan Tikhon then served a 40-day Panikhida remembering His Eminence Archbishop Paul of blessed memory who fell asleep in the Lord on Pascha.
