During Holy Week 2017, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, celebrated the Rite of Consecration of Holy Chrism at the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk, South Canaan, PA. The Consecration of Holy Chrism, which is used to receive those who are newly baptized and those being received into the Orthodox Faith, is a rite reserved for the Primates of autocephalous Churches.
