Archimandrite Meletios to speak at Diocese of the South pastoral conference
Archimandrite Meletios [Webber], Abbot of Saint John the Wonderworker Monastery, Manton, CA, will be the featured speaker at the Diocese of the South’s annual pastoral conference at Saint Barbara Church here January 26-28, 2010.
Father Meletios will offer three presentations — Monasticism in the Contemporary Church, Being Present in the Presence: Heart and Mind in the Practice of Prayer, and Dealing with Depression. The presentation on monasticism will be open to the public.
His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, Locum Tenens of the diocese, will be in attendance to meet with the clergy in group and personal settings.
Members of the diocesan council will meet on Monday, January 25, the eve of the conference, after which Metropolitan Jonah will meet with the diocesan deans.
