Bishop Michael to represent Metropolitan Jonah, Holy Synod in Republic of Georgia
His Grace, Bishop Michael of New York will represent His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah and the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America at the celebration of the 1000th Anniversary of the Cathedral of the Life-Giving Tree here in mid-October 2010.
The cathedral is the See of His Holiness, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia, Primate of the Church of Georgia.
Accompanying Bishop Michael will be Archpriest Alexander Tandilashvili, who will serve as His Grace’s translator and guide.
Bishop Michael will leave for Georgia on October 10 and return on October 19.
