“Building Community” to be theme of 2009 OCF college conferences

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship [OCF] will hold two simultaneous college conferences this year at Antiochian Village, Bolivar, PA and the Diakonia Center, Salem, SC December 27-31, 2009.

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah will be the keynote speaker at the Antiochian Village conference, while the Very Rev. Jon Braun will address participants at the Diakonia Center. The theme for both conferences is “Building Community” [2 Corinthians 13:14].

In related news, the nuns of the Monastery of the Transfiguration, Ellwood City, PA, invite college students, including those participating in the Antiochian Village conference, to share the celebration of the secular New Year on the Feast of Saint Basil the Great, January 1, 2010. The celebration will begin with Vigil on the evening of December 31, followed by a meal and the chanting of the Akathist “Glory to God for All Things.” The festivities will conclude with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy on the morning of January 1.
