FOCA announces 2011 “Celebration of Faith” creative arts contest

The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America [FOCA] recently announced it’s 2011 creative arts contest, the theme of which is “Who is God? Who am I? Who are You?”

The contest is open to all youths who are communicants of parishes and missions of canonical Orthodox parishes in North America.

The theme is very broad, permitting a wide range of creative ideas that can be expressed in four broad categories—literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. A detailed list of rules for each category and entry forms are available on the FOCA web site at www.orthodoxfellowship.org.

All entries will be displayed at the 2011 National FOCA Convention, during which awards will be presented.

Entries, which must be received no later than April 17, 2011, should be sent to FOCA Celebration of Faith, c/o Priest Benjamin Tucci, 1701 Fifth Street North East, Minneapolis, MN 55413.

Organized in Pittsburgh in 1927 as the “Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs”—the name change was effected in 1998—the FOCA is a national organization open to all Orthodox Christians seeking fellowship and service projects. Throughout its history, the FOCA has been especially committed to youth ministry programs on the local, regional, and national levels.
