In Memoriam: Priest Peter N. Milanovich [UPDATED]

Priest Peter Nicholas Milanovich, who was attached to Saint Stephen the Protomartyr Church here, fell asleep in the Lord on November 24, 2010.

The beloved husband of Mary Dotlich Milanovich; father of Donna Milanovich Srajer, (Dr. George Srajer), Nicholas Milanovich (deceased), and Bob Milanovich, (Cindy Barnard Milanovich); and grandfather of Chas Milanovich (deceased), Garrett Milanovich, and Hannah, Samuel, and Benjamin Srajer, Father Peter was born in Hobart, IN. After receiving an associate degree from Roosevelt University, Chicago, he served three years in the US Army 1st division occupational forces in Germany, which fostered his desire to help people of all races and creeds. He lived in the Gary, IN area until 1965, when he and his family moved to central Florida.

In Gary, Father Peter was a partner of Hubb Jewelers and later owned St. Nicholas Jeweler’s in Casselberry, FL. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Orthodox Christian faith at the age of 40. He loved music and people, and was considered a good friend and advisor to many.

Funeral services were celebrated by Archpriest Theodore Pisarchuk, Priest Daniel Hickman, and Priest Ljubisa Brnjos at Saint Stephen Church November 26-27.
