Newly posted installment of OCA Young Adult “Wonder” blog explores Capital Punishment

SYOSSET, NY [OCA] — Capital Punishment is the theme of the new installment of the OCA’s young adult blog, “Wonder,” posted at http://ocawonder.com on Monday, March 29, 2010.

The installment features four articles that explore the theological, moral, and legal aspects of the theme.

Authors include Archpriest Ted Bobosh, OCA Metropolitan Council member and rector of Saint Paul the Apostle Church, Dayton, OH; Priest James Guirguis, a former death row prison guard and graduate of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary who now serves as rector of Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Utica, NY; Jessie Kirchner, who studies law and social work at the University of Michigan and attends Saint Catherine Antiochian Orthodox Mission, Ann Arbor, MI; and Andrew Boyd, “Wonder” managing editor and student at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary. An introduction to the theme by Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak, “Wonder” editor and chair of the OCA Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry, rounds out the installment.

The blog was launched by the Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry in February 2010 as a means of providing thought-provoking articles on topics touching young adults, college students, and those who minister to this age group.

The blog’s first installment, which appeared in late February 2010, explored the theme, “Engaging Modern Atheism.”

The next installment will be released on April 25. Its theme, “Help My Unbelief,” will explore the topic of faith and doubt.
