Search opens for OCA Secretary

SYOSSET, NY [OCA Communications] —The Orthodox Church in America is seeking applications for the position of Secretary of the Church. Applications will be accepted until March 3, 2008.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with pay and benefits in the Long Island, NY, area.

The Secretary serves as the primary administrative manager of the OCA. The Secretary directs the administrative, housekeeping, and facilities management of the OCA Chancery, including human resource management and information technology and is responsible for collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and preserving the OCA official records and oversees the Archives. In addition, the Secretary supports the Church’s Councils and Synods and maintains the legal status of the church as a non-profit entity.

A thorough understanding of the culture of the Orthodox Church in America is essential. The applicant must have excellent administrative and communication skills to manage people, funds and property.

Inasmuch as the Secretary is an Officer of the Orthodox Church in America and a member of the Metropolitan Council, candidates must be members in good standing of the Orthodox Church in America.
