St. Vladimir’s Seminary to be featured on Fox News “Economic Report”

Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary here will be showcased on Fox Business Network’s “The Economic Report,” hosted by Greg Gumbel, on Saturday, January 30, 2010.

The segment, part of the network’s feature, “Leading Developments in Faith Based Higher Education,” highlights how the seminary has been making creative adjustments in response to the economic downturn.

Recently, Saint Vladimir’s established a “Going Green” campus initiative to address the growing ecological crisis and the issue of institutional sustainability, according to Deborah Belonick, the seminary’s advancement information officer.

“Orthodox Christianity ecologically involves the relationship with the inhabited earth, the human community, and the natural eco-system in which we live,” says Archpriest Dr. Chad Hatfield, chancellor and CEO of the seminary. “We are implementing sustainable practices across our 12-acre campus, exploring alternative energy sources, and caring for God’s creation.”

The program will air coast to coast at 2:30 p.m. ET; 1:30 p.m. CT; 12:30 p.m. MT; and 11:30 a.m. PT.
