Metropolitan Tikhon addresses plenary session at 90th FOCA Convention in Chicago, 2016.

The 91st Annual Convention of the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America [FOCA] will be held at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel September 1-4, 2017.

This year’s convention will be hosted by the FOCA’s New Jersey District.  All Orthodox Christians, including current and former FOCA members as well as those interested in meeting other Orthodox Christians, are invited to participate in the weekend of fellowship activities for all ages!

In addition to convention sessions, other events will include a golf outing, Trivia Night event, Saturday night entertainment and a Sunday Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, followed by a banquet and dance.  Ample time will be available to visit some of the nearby attractions, including Hershey Park, Hershey’s Chocolate World and the Hershey Gardens.  In addition, there will be a fun-filled program for youth, coordinated this year with the Orthodox Church in America’s Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministries in partnership with the FOCA.  Youth will also enjoy religious education sessions, a variety of age-appropriate activities including a visit to Hershey Park, and a possible service project.

The deadline for hotel reservations is Friday August 11.  Reservations may be made by calling 717-564-5511 or on-line.  In both instances, please mention “FOCA National Convention” to obtain the special convention rate.  Detailed information is available on the FOCA web site.

Established in 1927 as the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs to unite Orthodox Christians in faith, fellowship and service, the FOCA petitioned the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America to be officially recognized by the OCA.  At its 1998 national Convention, the organization adopted its present name.  The FOCA maintains chapters in dozens of parishes across the country.
