His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon Begins Great Lent at St. Nicholas Cathedral

On Sunday February 22 and Monday, February 23, 2026, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon began Great Lent with services at St. Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC.
On Sunday, His Beatitude presided at Forgiveness Vespers, beginning the Lenten season and concluding with the Rite of Mutual Forgiveness. On Monday, His Beatitude also served Great Compline for the reading of the Great Canon of St. Andrew.
Also present were Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, and Priest David Bozeman, Secretary of the Orthodox Church in America, along with other cathedral clergy.
