March installment of OCA’s young adult “Wonder” blog now available

A new issue of “Wonder,” the blog of the Orthodox Church in America’s Department of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministries, is now available. Published as we enter into the middle our lenten journey, this issue focuses on the traditional Christian disciplines of prayer, fasting, and alsmgiving.

Father Sergius Halvorsen, an Assistant Professor at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, challenges readers to realize that they are called to a continuous practice of these disciplines in his article, “Prayer, Fasting, and Alsmgiving; They’re Not Just for Lent Anymore!”  Dr. Albert Rossi, also a Professor at Saint Vladimir’s, reflects on prayer in “Silence on a College Campus”.  Mrs. Maria Reynolds-Weir recounts a fictional lenten reality show that teaches lessons about fasting and growth in her article, “Survivor: Great Lent.”  Finally, Protodeacon Paul Nimcheck shares a short reflection on almsgiving.

The theme of the next issue, “The Day of Resurrection,” will be posted on Bright Monday.  It will feature reflections, stories, and memoirs surronding the celebration of our Lord’s Pascha.  Deadline for submissions is April 10, 2012.  Readers are invited to submit articles, creative writing, artwork, poetry, photos, and videos for future installments.  Suggested topics are always welcome.  Send all materials and comments to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
