On Sunday, March 7, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon served the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, Washington, D.C. for the feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy. Read His Beatitude’s homily in its entirety here.

Read here the Encyclical for the Triumph of Orthodoxy from the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.

Finally, on this Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, we invite all to participate in a celebration of icons on social media at our Facebook and Instagram pages. Each of us has an icon which is meaningful in some way – whether passed down from generation to generation, or the first icon we received at our baptism or chrismation, whether painted, printed, or on our phone – icons define who we are, and themselves have a story to tell. As an example, read the story of an ancient icon which begins with Saint Luke the Evangelist, and winds its way through Constantinople, Russia, and to a small apartment in Chicago, IL.

Please consider sharing and telling us about your treasured icon at our Facebook page, and on Instagram.
