New Skete Monastery announces schedule for its 2023 annual Pilgrimage
New Skete Monastery has announced the schedule for its 2023 annual Pilgrimage, being hosted on August 12th.
The day will start with Festal Matins at 8:30 AM, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 AM. At 11:00 AM, Brother Gregory will conduct a tour of the churches and a brief overview of the history of New Skete Monastery. At 1:30 PM, guest presenter, The Very Reverend Doctor John A. Jillions, will speak:
Transcending Our Divisions: The Unifying Power of the Gospel
Using poetry, song, and historical examples, this talk will be something of a pilgrimage through American religious history, highlighting people of faith, conscience, courage, and perseverance who reflect the diversity of human experience and the power of the Gospel to transcend divisions. As Father Alexander Schmemann wrote, “A Christian is the one who, wherever he looks, finds Christ and rejoices in him.”
