OCA Clergy Widows Zoom retreat to be held on Bright Saturday
Our clergy widows face more than the loss of a beloved husband. There are also the possible imminent losses of a dwelling shared with that husband, a parish and parish friends, and financial security. Another loss is the position of Matushka. As one clergy widow writes, “We now have that title without that relationship.”
On Bright Saturday, April 22, the OCA’s Clergy Wives Advisory Group (CWAG) will sponsor an online retreat for clergy widows, led by His Grace Bishop John Abdalah of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Bishop John is a widower who can address the pain of loss. He also appreciates the huge, often silent, contribution made to a clergyman’s ministry by his wife.
