Openings still available for OCMC’s 2016 mission teams

OCMC

It’s not too late to sign up for an Orthodox Christian Mission Center [OCMC] ministry opportunity in 2016.

Individuals interested in teaching, youth and healthcare ministries are being sought for a variety of team opportunities in Albania, Indonesia, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda between March and November 2016.  Seminarians may earn credit hours while studying missiology with coursework offered through the Missions Institute of Orthodox Christianity during a practicum in Albania in late May and early June.  Four additional mission teams will undertake construction projects and youth camping ministry in the Orthodox Church in America’s Diocese of Alaska in July.

Mission team members typically raise funds locally to cover travel, registration and personal expenses.

As the official missions agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, OCMC is committed to “putting into action” the Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” [Matthew 28:19-20].

Detailed descriptions, expectations and registration information for each 2016 mission team may be found on OCMC’s web site.
