St. Tikhon’s Seminary announces 75th Anniversary celebration

Saint Tikhon’s Seminary here will mark its 75th Anniversary with a day of prayer and fellowship that will open with the celebration of a Service of Thanksgiving and Panikhida for departed administration members, faculty, and alumni at the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.

Saint Tikhon’s joins Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY, which also will be celebrating it’s 75th Anniversary in November [see related story] and Saint Herman’s Seminary, Kodiak, AK, which will be celebrating its 40th Anniversrary, in honoring their past in anticipation of their ongoing ministries in the critical field of theological education and formation.

An anniversary reception and Grand Banquet will be held at Fiorelli Catering, 1501 Main Street, Peckville, PA, at 4:30 p.m.  Banquet reservations are $50.00 per person and may be made by calling 978-239-3382 or by e-mail to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  Specially priced lodging accommodations also have been arranged at two conveniently located venues in Hamlin and Carbondale, PA.  Additional information may be found on the seminary web site.

Throughout the day, the faithful are warmly invited to tour the newly renovated seminary building, meet the current students, visit the Monastery Museum and Repository, and pray before the monastery’s shrines.

In related news, the anniversaries of the three seminaries will be marked with a celebration at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America, Syosset, NY in September.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
