His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon Presides at 100th Anniversary Celebration of Ss. Peter and Paul Sobor in Montreal, QC, Canada

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon traveled to Montreal to preside at the 100th Anniversary Celebration of Saints Peter and Paul Sobor at the invitation of His Eminence Archbishop Irénée of Ottawa and Canada. Upon Arrival to Montreal, His Beatitude was greeted at the airport by His Eminence Archbishop Irénée, Archpriest Anatoliy Melnyk, the Rector of the parish, and other diocesan clergy.

His Beatitude then proceeded to Saints Peter and Paul Sobor, where he presided at the All Night Vigil. Following Vigil a light dinner was held with the concelebrating clergy in the Church Hall.

On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, His Beatitude presided at the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with His Beatitude was His Eminence, Father Anatoliy, Priest Gleb Melnyk, and other diocesan clergy.

At the conclusion of the liturgy, His Eminence welcomed His Beatitude to Montreal and Father Anatoliy presented His Beatitude with an Icon of Saints Peter and Paul along with a commemorative book about the life of the parish. Also, Priest Joshua Genig offered prayerful greetings and best wishes to His Beatitude and to the parish community on behalf of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Interim Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes of the United States and Canada.

A Festive banquet followed that included presentations about the life of the parish, traditional Russian dances and musical entertainment with members of the local community, His Beatitude then returned to Washington, DC.
