Parish Background

Holy Resurrection Church was founded in 1977 and bought property in Clinton in 1980. In 2006 we bought and remodelled a nearby Protestant Church and moved there. We average 100 people at Sunday Divine Liturgy, a third of them children. About two-thirds of our adult members are converts, mostly from Southern Protestant backgrounds; the rest are “born” Orthodox of Middle Eastern or Slavic backgrounds. Our Sunday worshippers come from all over central Mississippi, many driving 50 - 100 miles to worship here. We are close to Mississippi College, a Southern Baptist institution, and have many young adults and college students among our worshippers. Christ the Saviour Church in McComb, Mississippi, was a mission of Holy Resurrection and now has its own resident priest.
