Opening of the relics of Saint Daniel of Pereyaslavl

In 1652, after the appearance of Venerable Daniel to the novice John Daurov, his holy relics were recovered and found to be incorrupt. Then they were placed in the Monastery near the altar of Holy Trinity Cathedral. His relics were recovered on November 18, 1653, and they were authenticated by Metropolitan Jonah of Rostov and Yaroslavl on December 30.

Many miracles and healings occurred before Saint Daniel's holy relics. His wonderworking icon, painted by a healed iconographer named Demetrios, was kept in the Monastery. There was a well which the Saint himself dug, and its water is miraculous. Pilgrims drank it, bathed in it, and the sick received healing from their ailments.
