Benefit Programs

Several benefit programs are available to clergy, lay workers, parishes, and institutions of the Orthodox Church in America. These programs include insurance for parishes/institutions, clergy insurance, employee assistance program, assistance on tax-exempt status [501(C)3] as well as other issues that concern parish/institution operations. Please note that the organizations are recommended and not mandated and that participation is voluntary. A listing of the benefits programs offered through the Orthodox Church in America may be found below.

The Pension program is a separate organization, under its own Board and governance, that provides pension benefits for the clergy and employees of the Orthodox Church in America.

Orthodox Health Plans

OHP

The Orthodox Health Plan is a group policy that provides benefits for the clergy and Church employees of the Orthodox Churches in North America, as well as other Orthodox jurisdictions. Participation in the Orthodox Health Plans is voluntary.

The Orthodox Health Plan (OHP) is a PPO Plan which offers the broadest and most flexible coverage and includes prescription, vision, and dental benefits. The insurance carrier is Aetna, one of the single largest healthcare providers in the nation.
