Archpriest Antonio Perdomo fell asleep in the Lord in Pharr, TX, surrounded by family, on April 1, 2021, due to complications of cancer.

Father Antonio was born Nelson Antonio Perdomo in La Vega, Dominican Republic to Lucia Collado and Frederico Perdomo in 1955.  He served at Saint George the Great Martyr Orthodox Church in Pharr, TX, since 2002, where he founded and directed Saint George Food Pantry, The International Festival, and The Winter Service Youth Retreat. Father Antonio was on the Metropolitan Council for the Orthodox Church in America and served as the Liaison to the Diocese of Mexico (Iglesia Ortodoxa en America Diocesis de México). Father Perdomo acted as a Frontline Responder with International Orthodox Christian Charities and as a Spanish language missionary with Orthodox Christian Mission Center. Padre Antonio is remembered for his years of faithful ministry across Latin America, which included two Spanish Podcasts for Ancient Faith Ministries, Spanish Orthodox liturgical and educational translations, literature and forums, and guest speaking. Serving in his native language was one of his greatest joys. He was also instrumental in directing, staffing and founding two Orthodox summer camps in Texas and for the region. These were the former Saint Peter the Aleut Summer Camp and the later All Saints Orthodox Summer Camp.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Perdomo (Carol Whittle); three daughters Analucia Brown (SubDeacon John Aaron), Cristina Kautsky (Alexander), and Rosamarie Perdomo; three grandchildren; a sister, Vilma (Irene) Williams (Reader Seraphim Dale); and a brother, Paul Perdomo (Kathy). Archpriest Antonio was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by Archbishop Dmitri of Blessed Memory, at Saint Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral in Dallas on April 25, 1999, which was the Sunday of the Holy Myrhbearers.

A viewing and visitation for the public will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2021, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Aurora Funeral Home at 706 W Sam Houston Blvd, Pharr, TX. All are welcome to say their goodbyes.
