Funeral services for Matushka Irene [Orinick] Borick will be celebrated at the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk here at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Visitation will precede the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the monastery mausoleum, after which a mercy meal will be served in the monastery dining hall.
Matushka Irene fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was the wife of the late Archpriest Paul Borick, who reposed on December 14, 1997.
Born April 21, 1931 and baptized at Saint Basil Church, Simpson, PA, Matushka Irene and Father Paul were married in 1970. After Father Paul’s ordination on March 4, 1972, the couple faithfully served Saint Nicholas Church, Philadelphia, PA; Saint Michael Church, Saint Clair, PA; and Saint Mary Church, Coaldale, PA. She also was active in various religious education programs and served on the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania’s Department of Religious Education.
