The schedule for visitation and funeral services for Protodeacon Dennis and Helen Lucak was announced on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
Visitation at Archangel Michael Church, Broadview Heights, OH will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18. A Panikhida will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be celebrated at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, with interment at Saint Theodosius Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Woodside Event Center, located behind Archangel Michael Church. His Grace, Bishop Paul of Chicago and the Midwest, will preside at services.
Protodeacon Dennis and Helen, each 72-years-old, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at their home, the victims of a tragic shooting incident.
“Obviously this is shocking, and most distressing news, and we ask all of you to pray for their souls and for the peace of their family,” Archpriest John Memorich, Rector of Archangel Michael Church, Broadview Heights, OH, wrote in an email sent to parishioners on Sunday evening. “They were both longtime members of our parish community and active in our clubs and organizations. They were a devoted couple, loved each other, supported one another, did everything together.
“They really carried their crosses, and I’d like to think that they who bore their crosses with honor and dignity throughout their life, that in the end those crosses carried them into our Lord’s kingdom,” Father John added.
In addition to his parish ministry, Protodeacon Dennis was a retired RTA bus driver and supervisor, while his wife was a retired teacher with the Maple Heights, OH School District.
